About the TrueCrypt Situation

The last known good version of TrueCrypt (v7.1a) was released on February 7, 2012.

On May 28, 2014, the TrueCrypt website and pre v7.2 versions were removed, and a mysterious "TrueCrypt is not secure" message was published on their SourceForge website, along with the release of v7.2 which is incapable of creating encrypted volumes. Do NOT install version 7.2.

This site was created in order to help act as a familiar yet unique point of reference for TrueCrypt, and it features:

• Up-to-date information and links to TrueCrypt downloads (note: no binary TrueCrypt files are hosted or offered on this site)

This site was created because the partial backup of the original TrueCrypt.org site has many of the main pages preserved, but is missing a few documentation pages.
